I/O Modules - BACnet - The module is not discovered by BACnet scanner

SKB article

Issue

The IP module is not discovered by the UDP scanner, for example, Contemporary Controls BACnet Discovery Tool.

Possible solution

  1. Use the BACnet UDP scanner, for example, YABE, instead of a UDP scanner.

    • The UDP scanner generally operates at the transport protocol level and is not specific to any application protocol. The BACnet UDP scanner, on the other hand, operates at the application level and is designed exclusively for detecting BACnet devices. The UDP scanner typically provides a response about the status of ports, while the BACnet UDP scanner provides detailed information about devices, which is crucial in building automation systems. Unfortunately, IP modules do not respond to UDP port scanning requests.
