Issue
A device used as a gateway module does not communicate with the controller. An RS485 communication is broken or does not proceed properly, for example, points spontaneously go into the Down status.
Possible solutions

Share gateway configuration instructions with an end user so that every step is carried out properly.

Check if the device’s configuration is compliant with the slave device’s configuration and connection configuration (addresses, baud rate, DIP switch).

Check if the slave device has the 0 register - it is the ping address.

Increase polling time or timeout.

In the gateway device, check if the RS485 biasing resistors option is enabled.

In iSMA Configurator uncheck the Send Modbus Errors field.
