MAC36NL - Platform - Default user (tridium) - No option to delete
The article describes the situation when the default platform user (tridium) cannot be removed from the iSMA-B-MAC36NL controller, and how to remove it once the problem happens.
It happens that during the first login to the platform Niagara is not able to remove the default user tridium (password niagara) - an error occurs. After completing the first login wizard and going to the Platform Administration and further to the User Accounts, it is also not possible to remove the "tridium" user from the list. The WorkPlace program will not even allow to leave the window (User Accounts), which will have to be forced through the Windows Task Manager - by calling the End Task action.
This behavior can be triggered after the following steps:
1. supplying power to the iSMA-B-MAC36NL after performing one of the following actions:
- inserting an SD card into the controller on which the commissioning process has not been performed,
carrying out the procedure of restoring factory settings with the 6th pin in the S3 DIP switch;
2. connecting the iSMA-B-MAC36NL controller to the PC using the Putty program (e.g., to check the IP address) - using the only available default login data (tridium → niagara);
3. not disconnecting the session of the Putty program;
4. logging in to the platform through the WorkPlace program (also using the only available - default login data).
In point 4, there will be (as is normal for the first login) an automatic start of the wizard to replace the default user of the platform. After going through the entire sequence of the wizard, an error will occur - the default user will not be removed, and every time you try to log in to the platform from scratch, the wizard will start over. Likewise, after going to Platform Administration and then User Accounts, the tridium user will be highlighted in red, but it will not be possible to remove it, and as a result, you there will be no option to leave this window - unless the WokPlace program is closed using Windows Task Manager.
All this is due to the occupation of the default user (tridium) by a session of the Putty program. Once this session is closed, it will be possible to remove the default user, and after removing it, the wizard will stop restarting during subsequent logins to the platform.
